Background

Frontier Medical Group (FMG) are a market leading medical product manufacturer specialising in pressure area care solutions, their products are available in the UK and internationally.

The Brief

Frontier Medical Group required a digital asset management (DAM) system to provide news, documents, graphics, user manuals and videos to their distribution partners around the globe.

The digital asset manager  would also need to send email notifications to users informing them of the latest updates and news articles, it would also collect statistics so that the marketing team could  monitor the user engagement with the various assets and articles.

The Result

Starting with a wish-list of requirements from the client which was of course everything including the kitchen sink! We worked with FMG, scoping the feature set to fit a budget in order to release a first stage. The project was purposely built with separated concerns so that in the future extra features and apps could be introduced. We continued on to a design stage and followed that with specifications for the API and database schema. With the concepts approved and the data requirements agreed we started the development and programming stages.

The end result consisted of a web browsable Single Page Application (SPA) which comprised of a front end for the customers and an admin area for staff, this connected via the API to a database. We worked with FMG IT staff to create a deployment solution which hosts the site, database and file storage on their Amazon Web services (AWS) account as a scalable solution to future proof it.

The system has been very well received and has had several feature updates to enhance the users and administrators experience.
